We have added another infusion to our collection of DIY infused simple syrups. It's so easy to make you'll want to keep this syrup on hand all winter long. Your home will be scented with reminiscent flavors of the season, like pecan pie. This is used in the cocktail, Chocolate Turtle Martini a holiday favorite. Or use this in a coffee drink to warm you up, Toasted Pecan Coffee.
Directions
Add the pecans to a saucepan and lightly toast over low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
As soon as the pecans start to color, add the simple syrup and stir to combine. Bring to a boil.
Once it reaches a boil, turn the heat to low and simmer for 6-7 minutes. Stirring as neded so it doesn't burn.
Allow to cool (about 15 minutes) and strain the simple syrup back into it's bottle. Can be stored in the refridgerator for up to two weeks.
